April 2006 Scholarship Newsletter Seniors: Graduation is just around the corner. Spring break is over and now would be a great time to look over these listings and start writing up the essays and applications needed to apply for some of these scholarships. Time is flying by, don’t be left behind! Juniors: Start surfing the net for some of the scholarship sites listed at the end of this newsletter. Good luck on your search. Salvadorian-American Leadership & Educational FundAward: $500 - $2,500 Eligibility: Must be of Central American and other Latino background, must demonstrate Financial need, must have a minimum 2.50 GPA, must have a history of community service And be willing to give back by becoming a mentor to a high school student, must be Accepted to four year college or university. ROTC Four-Year Scholarship – Juniors Award: Full tuition scholarships including a monthly stipend Eligibility: U.S. Citizen; between the ages of 17 and 26; high school GPA of at least 2.50 Have a high school diploma; score a minimum of 920 on the SAT or 19 on the ACT; meet Physical standards; agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on active duty or In a reserve component. Northtown Housing Development Corp. – College Scholarship ProgramAward: $6,000 (to be awarded in even installments over a maximum of 4 years) Eligibility: income eligibility, minimum 2.00 GPA, participated in community service, the scholarship is available to students of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District.
