Welcome Back Seniors!  Congratulations on making it this far!   Now it’s time to plan your future.  This monthly newsletter will notify you of the many scholarship opportunities available.  The first thing I suggest is that you get on the Internet and start your research NOW.  Second, look for this newsletter every month in you Government class, library, or guidance office. Third, read the newsletter and determine which scholarships you are eligible for.  Fourth, use the contact line to access the web site, the phone number, or the address or go to the career center to pick up an application for the scholarship you are interested in.  Happy Scholarship hunting!

A must for Seniors: Log on to http://www.fastweb.com  and fill out a profile to get an email box. This is the closest thing to getting a scholarship handed to you. All you have to do is answer questions and wait. You can check your email at any time. Do it TODAY!

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Scholarship program (several Awards)

Award: $1,500 - $6,000

Eligibility: Intent to enroll in an engineering major, US citizen, senior, 3.75 GPA

90th percentile SAT

CSF (Fullerton) President's Scholars Awards

Awards: 4 year fees, tuition and other perqs!

Eligibility" senior, 3.75 GPA or high SAT or ACT, strong community service,

Seattle (sleepless in) University Sullivan Leadership Awards Competition

Awards: $6,000 - $12,000 per year

Eligibility: demonstrated leadership in school, community, high academics, etc.

Gated Millennium Scholarship Awards

Award: full tuition, 4 years

Eligibility: Must be African American, American Indian, Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic. U.S. Citizen or Legal permanent resident, must maintain at least a 3.30. Applicant must plan to attend an accredited college or University  full-time in fall 2007. Must also have significant financial need and demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community services, extracurricular activities or other activities. Applicants must also complete a FAFSA application. A staff member of MHS must nominate students.

Scripps New Generation Scholarship Awards

Awards: $10,000 - $20,000

Eligibility: high school seniors, 3.00 GPA, active in community service, US Citizen, US National or US Permanent resident, plan to pursue an undergraduate degree at a four year college or university in the United States.
